Seasonal observations, nature notes, and homeschool reflections from the week outdoors.

Field Notes · May
By now spring is in full swing, and we’re ready to get outside and spend more time in the garden. Everywhere we look, there is something new to notice. Each morning, we check out the window to see which flowers are blooming and whether the neighborhood squirrel stopped by for another visit.

What We Noticed
- Fern fiddleheads uncurling
- Songbirds perching in the tree and singing
- Mother’s day peony blooming
- Bees buzzing everywhere

Weather Conditions
Sunny and warm, with rain overnight.
Field Notes
- Placed pollinator garden sign
- Watered the plants
- Planted mutant zinnia seeds saved from last year
